What qualifies someone to be a domain name/affiliate program, and
online marketing consultant? Let's start at the beginning.
After majoring in business in college, I worked for a major insurance
company before becoming a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch. Then, at the
prodding of family and friends, I went back to school to become an
attorney. 2 1/2 years later I graduated law school and passed my first
California Bar Exam in 1980.
Having taken every business and entertainment law class offered, I
naturally went to work in the film business. Head of Business Affairs
for Anthony Quinn's production company and then working in a Beverly
Hills law firm, my marketing and creative skills pushed me into
managing movie stars, writers, and directors, during which time I
also earned producing credits on two motion pictures.
During this time I resisted the computer revolution, satisfied to
let others sit there and type all day, not realizing the potential
for creativity. Then it happened. A friend insisted I come over and
see what these new-fangled contraptions were capable of, so I gave
in. I was fascinated, and I was hooked.
But my time wasn't spent in chat rooms or playing games. I was
immediately drawn to the design and marketing aspects of web sites,
spending hours analyzing what set the good ones apart from the bad.
I read every newsletter available on web marketing and everything
I could find on laws applying to internet issues, especially
curious about those related to domain names.
It became clear to me that the majority of web sites had less than
optimum domain names and that many with valuable names were not
taking advantage of their potential. This waste caused me great
frustration, especially in contrast to the companies who had learned
to select and exploit their domains to the fullest. So I continued
to search out and study how and why these domains were constructed,
and how these elements impacted on the performance of the sites.
After over a thousand hours of research and inumerable conversations
on the subject, I was convinced that I had valuable insight into a
subject that, probably due to most people's lack of recognition of
its importance, is currently being overlooked by most site owners.
There are many web sites offering domain names for sale, or registration
services, but I couldn't find even one site that offered honest,
carefully thought out advice on how to select a domain name or how
to acquire one properly.
While doing all of this, I experimented with some other web sites.
I got into the world of affiliate programs. I looked at hundreds
of them. I signed up for some. I learned a few things on the way.
One of the things I learned was that some programs are unfair to
their affiliates. But it was obvious to me that their affiliates
had no idea of the nature of this unfair relationship. So again,
I felt the urge to do what I could to inform people. This site
was born.
So here I am, sitting in my office in Sherman Oaks, California,
offering you the benefit of my insight, experience and marketing
skills to help you avoid mistakes and get the most from your new
or existing web sites.
I would be happy to discuss your needs and give you my feedback. I
hope the information contained in this site helps you in your efforts
to succeed. If it proves valuable to you, please return the favor by

By the way, I personally designed and built the look and graphics on
